Support The Mission

Donate to ATAC

If you believe in the importance of independent oversight and accountability within the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry, then please consider making a donation to Arizonans for Transparency and Accountability in Corrections. Your support helps us conduct research, analysis and reports, public-awareness campaigns, community organizing, and legislative outreach. Your donation will also help us to create a robust independent citizen-led oversight and advisory committee and correctional ombuds to ensure the ADCRR is meeting its statutory mandates. With your support, we can work towards a safer and more just correctional system for all Arizonans. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and is greatly appreciated. So please, consider making a donation today and help us bring about real change to the ADCRR.

This is A Grassroots Movement

ATAC is a coalition of Arizona citizens directly impacted by the Arizona Department of Corrections. We together can and will make the change to restore trust, transparency, and accountability in the ADCRR.

Consistent with our mission, ATAC will publish annually a report of all donations received and how those donations were allocated to achieve the ATAC Mission.

Statement Regarding 501(c)(3) Lobbying Compliance

Arizonans for Transparency and Accountability in Corrections (“ATAC”) is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to the creation and implementation of a Citizen’s Oversight Committee and Independent Ombuds to monitor, investigate, and report on the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, donations to ATAC are tax-exempt, and ATAC complies with all 501(c)(3) rules and regulations. ATAC has made a 501(h) election that allows us to participate in lobbying activities to the extent permitted by Internal Revenue Service financial limits. ATAC tracks the amount it spends on lobbying, as well as the amount of staff time, as needed to ensure that it does not exceed federal thresholds.

ATAC does not attempt to influence nor participate in electoral politics, and we do not endorse candidates for public office. We are a non-partisan organization whose lobbying efforts are solely directed toward educating our members, the public, and policymakers and advocating for comprehensive legislation to create and implement the Citizen’s Oversight Committee and Independent Ombuds to monitor, investigate, and report on the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry. Our goal is to have paid employees dedicated to this effort, and we also support, encourage and include volunteers.

ATAC has never and will never jeopardize its exempt status by exceeding its federally-mandated threshold for “substantial” lobbying activities, either grassroots or direct. Within these limits, we will continue to fulfill our mission and be the voice for all Arizona families and taxpayers in partnership with like-minded organizations

ATAC'S Commitment to transparency

Arizonans for Transparency and Accountability in Corrections (“ATAC”) is committed to being transparent and accountable to the public and our supporters.

ATAC is committed to posting  bank account activity and additional financial documents that show exactly how donations are received and funds expended to operate ATAC and execute the mission to bring independent oversight of the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry.
