Transparency and accountability are key elements in ensuring a fair, humane, and effective correctional system in Arizona. Arizonans for Transparency and Accountability in Corrections (ATAC) is committed to promoting the open access to information on the events, news stories, public records, transactions, budget appropriations, and operations of the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry. To achieve this, ATAC supports the establishment of an Independent Corrections Ombudsman (Inspector) and a citizen-led legislative prison oversight committee (Committee) to provide a channel for community engagement and to hold the agency accountable to the needs and expectations of Arizona taxpayers.

ADCRR FY 2023 Budget and Need for Oversight
