How Can I Complete a Public Records Request?
A Freedom of Information Request, Public Records Request, or Information Request from government agencies is one of the most powerful tools we have as a citizenry to hold our government accountable. It is part of the checks and balances we have as taxpayers and citizens.
This guide describes a public records request process to obtain information from the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry; however, there is an analogue in all government agencies at the federal, state, county, and municipal levels.
It is always best to check with the specific agency to determine the best method for a public records request.
