Our Mission

The implementation of the COAC and ombuds will institute transparency and accountability in the ADCRR and increase public safety while ensuring proper care for the incarcerated.

The annual budget appropriation for the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry consumes over $1.2 billion dollars each year.

Public Safety

Citizens' oversight and Ombuds model

ATAC is a non-partisan organization working with lawmakers to develop and implement oversight legislation.

The ATAC model proposes a Citizens’ Oversight and Advisory Board within the Arizona Legislature and an Ombuds in the Arizona Governor’s office.

The ATAC model creates effective and responsive oversight, ensures accurate reporting, and provides a framework to advise the government on improvements in the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry.
